Improved the Quality of Life for all of our residents

  • Formally protected the Addison Bog and Woodlands
  • Acquired over 400 acres of land for open space, recreation and municipal needs
  • Approved the Bicycle Path Master Plan and initiated funding applications
  • Improved the Elderly tax relief Program
  • Initiated the resurfacing of the GHS track and installation of synthetic turf on the football field
  • Allocated funds for improved access to town owned property
  • Increased program offerings to our seniors and children
  • Completed review of the Plan of Conservation and Development…a blueprint for our future

Implemented Energy Saving Strategies and Clean energy Initiatives

  • Collectively purchased natural gas and electricity to obtain best price
  • Enrolled in the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund  20% by 2010
  • Purchased hybrid vehicles for town use
  • Implemented use of bio diesel
  • Installed Energy Management Systems and received significant rebates for meeting efficiency and conservation goals in new buildings         

Approved Appropriate Economic Development generating tax dollars

  • 75,000 square Class A medical office buildings near completion in former gateway complex
  • Approved additional 40,000 square feet of medical office buildings
  • Completed Homewood Suites
  • Completed 124 Hebron Ave providing new opportunities in our down town
